Finance Asia Magazine, a prestigious financial publication based in Hong Kong, published the results of its 9th annual poll of Asia’s Best Managed Companies based on a survey among leading investors and analysts across the region.
In the Philippines, a number of companies listed in the local bourse made it to the top ranks of the poll’s several categories, including Best Managed Company, Best Corporate Governance, Best Investor Relations, Best Corporate Social Responsibility, Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy, Best Medium Cap, Best Small Cap, Best CEO and Best CFO.
In a recent statement, Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) President and Chief Executive Officer Francis Lim lauded the achievements of the publicly-listed companies which were cited in the annual poll. Mr. Lim commended all the awardees for exemplary business practices and their continuous efforts to outperform and deliver superior stakeholder value, adding that these performances are good examples for other publicly-listed companies to emulate.
Among the listed companies, Security Bank was included in the top ten in five categories securing its place in the company of the biggest and best companies in the Philippines and in Asia.
Security Bank placed 2nd in the Best Medium Cap category and garnered the 4th spot as the Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy. The bank was ranked among the top ten Best Managed Companies, ranking higher than some of the country’s biggest companies. It also ranked within the top ten in the Best Corporate Governance and Best Investor Relations categories.
This string of citations is a testament to the solid corporate reputation Security Bank has cultivated through the years. This adds to the Bank’s list of awards from prestigious organizations that include The Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Awards as the 2008 Best Securities House, 2008 Asiamoney Award as the Top Three Local Brokerage House for SB Equities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Security Bank and The Asset Benchmark’s Asian Currency Bond Benchmark Survey’s Overall Best Bank in Philippine Peso Government and Corporate Bonds, among others.
